Hey,

I'm working on an animation that needs to be be published / exported as an animated gif. The animation itself is some kind of a pageturn effect, so I'm mainly doing this with help of actionscript.

Now when exporting this to GIF, the movieclips with the attached actionscript don't get shown (of course), so I'm wondering what my options are.

Basically I could make the animation manually, but the idea is that I can insert new/other pages quite easily, that's why I went for the actionscript approach.

Are there any other options which I should consider for this? I'm thinking about third party programs who can convert swf movies to GIF or even a capturing program to capture the animation (however I'm not sure of the quality of the latter).

Thanks for any help!

Anyone know anything about this? I could use a swf-to-gif converter. Is it just me, or does Flash export Animated Gifs at really low quality? How can I get top quality GIFs that look like my swfs??

I can't believe I'm searching for a resolution to this problem over two years later. Why can't Flash just publish an animated GIF with no loss of quality?

What is the best and most efficient way to take a .fla and get it into a quality animated GIF? Do I need to export a BMP sequence and then put it back together using some animated GIF software?

If so, what software is the best to use? I tried a couple of downloaded ones, but they both had a loss of quality (not to mention a watermark in the Trial Version ).
