heya

I've been doing webdesign for a while. Although not a great deal of freelance work. I starting to get asked now to do work for people. And i have no clue how much stuff normally costs. I have the possiblity of creating a Flash website for someone (5 - 6 pages) quite simple, nothing spectacular. Can any suggest a ballpark figure i should be aiming for with a project like this?>

Depends on the project scope (backend, flash, html, etc), the client's budget, and your personal level of experience.

Considering you're new to it, I'd say offer somewhere between $20-35/hr.
Right now experience and portfolio contributions are more important for you than the actual rate itself.

Also, factor in supply and demand ;) If you're anxious to pick up a project, you may be a bit more lenient on the rate. In my case, the opportunities I have for freelance is greater than my time and willingness to pick up such projects, so I refuse to work for less than a fixed minimum as a means to weed out the miniscule projects from the worthwhile ones.
