So I have been developing this flash file for a friend - its really complex with loads of scenes, pictures, videos, audio clips, and hundreds of library objects. I am almost done here and want to give him the whole package with everything sorted out. I viewed certain other flash documents - they have folders for each scene and it has a folder in it called "assets" which carries the pertaining documents - and it looks very organized. How do I go about doing this? Is there a standard that I should follow? Or can I just create a folder for each scene and just put whatever I want to in the "assets" folder. Will the .fla file automatically figure out where the objects are?

And what happens if I give someone just the .fla file? Will it still have all the images and other library items?

Thanksssssssssssss in advance for the help. I truly appreciate it!

as long as everything you using is in the library you can do either. Flash WILL figure out where everything is no matter how many folders, etc there are, you can just organize it to suit your needs.

Also if you give your friend the .fla everything that is in the library will be retained. Only things like external images, external documents (like XML files, etc) will need to be packaged separately.

That being said the more things in the library the larger both the .fla size and the .swf size will be, so be careful. You don't want a .swf that takes 20 minutes to load.

Thanks MCM. That was some useful information. Just as you've mentioned my fla file is getting bigger and bigger :( So how do I work around this problem? (I think the largest object i have is this avi file that is about 20 megs). Also when i look in the properties of the embedded video it says its 1.2 megs - why is that?

Thanks!
