search and play you tube site

Hi all

I'm fairly new to flash and am in the process of developing a portfolio. Let me know what you think of this application. It searches you tube, and plays the video ( all fairly quickly). I don't have a preloader, do i need one?

I'm not on highspeed, so i'd be curious to hear how it loads and the overall speed of the app.

Also, is it obvious what does what, or do i need a "help" section.

wow thats pretty neat dude... im sure u can work on a design a little more, but the functionality is awesome(and its what matters at the end of the day).

my connection is relatively slow and the site itself loaded relatively quick, but i think a preloader would not hurt...

u definately need to show the progress of the video upload (im yet to see a video appear) and also it would be nice to be able to get out of the "please be patient " page if its taking to long to load.

Since i use remoting, I don't think there's a way to show progress, though it should only be 5-10 seconds to get to the flvplayback skin.

Any ideas? I can't do 0-100, that's why i did the 3 dots.

Once in the playback skin, it will play ASAP, and not fully load first, so, then there's no need for a progress bar ( as the progress bar is in the skin), right?

As for the design, any ideas? I was planning to keep it simple, as I don't have any links or other content. I thought the "space" theme would work, but maybe not??? I could add some stars and planets? I don't think i could make the earth rotate.
