I have a somewhat basic and probably annoying question here. I was wondering if anyone would recommend a good "learning AS" book for MX. I have the animation side down fairly well and can do some beginner AS with it. But I want to learn how to script very well; at least well enough that I could do some pretty significant coding and impressive things with it. I love the tutorials on here and have read a lot of them. But I hate copying and pasting.
I have an education and experience with HTML, Cold Fusion, JAVA, VB, PL/SQL, etc. So with all of that, is there a book that anyone could recommend? Thank you.

Friends of ED books are great! That’s what I used and still use. The moock books are great for technical reference but the FOE books are loaded with layman descriptions and Tutes.

I have learned the basics with "Foundation Actionscript for Flash MX" from 'friends of ED'. Ideally for beginners and more advanced stuff.
Very well written, going from basic to intermediate to advanced in about 13 chapters. I have it for 3 years and still use it from time to time.

I got started with SAMS Learn ActionsScript in 24 Hours.
It's got 24 lessons that basically cover a little bit of everything. Nicely presented and not too verbose.
