Mmorpg Making

Is it possible to make an mmorpg in flash as a side-scroller. I don't want it to be turn based and I wonder how the people that made dofus made the connection and everything.:rolleyes:

You'll need to learn Flash Remoting and possibly Flash Media Server (formerly Flash Communication Server) or ColdFusion.
