Hi all,

I have created two working movie clips, both are containers with two frame checkbox movie clips inside them, each with a button.I have labelled the frames in the movie 'checkboxoff' and 'checkboxon'.

If I drag either of them into an empty movie they work like a dream. When I drag them into scene6 of another movie, half the content disappears and they don't work.

I have trawled through the pathing posts and I am guessing that it has something to do with dreaded scenes.

The movie clip (container) is called q2 and instances of the checkbox within are named 0,1,2..and so on.

I am trying to drag it into 'scene6' of the main movie frame11 which I have labelled 'PREF1'.

Can anyone help?

temptation,

Not that your question is unclear, but is there any chance of a look at the *fla ?

Not possible to post the big flash file as it is 2.4mb but I think that your request has led to the answer!!

In trying to separate an area to send you, I noticed that when I deleted some of th elibrary items and then dragged the movie clip in again that some more bits of it appeared.

Strange... So I prefixed every library item for my movie clip with 'unique' to ensure that there would be no duplicate names anywhere.

It looks like just one of the button resources in my movie clip already existed in the movie I was trying to drag across to and this screwed everything up. Nothing to do with scenes at all.

Another valuable newbie lesson for yours truly and only at the exepense of 12 hours work!

Does anyone know why this is so? - I would have thought that provided that the graphic was the same and the name was the same that everything should have worked.

Thanks for your interest Snapple - sometimes it just helps to hear anything that makes you do something different from what you have been doing.:)

temptation,

Thats good news, i understand your problem more now, i will try to re-create what you have done and see if i suffer the same fate.

Glad to hear that it's improving.
