Custom components but how?

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or resource on how to make your own components? I am needing to make my own custom components from scratch. If anyone can point me where to find help on how to do this, I'd appreciate it! I've looked all over adobe.com and didn't find what I need.

Hi,
I got my information about making components from the Total Training videos. The one I watched was Advanced ActionScript 2.0. They have a new set out called Next Level ActionScript: Check here. (http://www.totaltraining.com/prod/adobe/flashpro8_adv2.asp)
Flash Components are really just MovieClips with AS classes attached to them. For some good info on AS classes, check out Essential ActionScript 2.0 by Colin Moock: Check here. (http://www.amazon.com/Essential-ActionScript-2-0-Colin-Moock/dp/0596006527)
That's all I've got. I don't know anything about CS3 or AS3 yet.
