How are transparent videos created..?

Your video should be a MovieClip. Select the MovieClip, go into Properties, Color, Alpha, change trans percentage.

what i meant was, a video that has transparent background, say a dog running around in a video with a transparent background so when i embed it into flash, he could run around the website.

The dog would be shot against a blue or green background... Then using a video key, the background becomes transparent, allowing you to key the dog on another background.

You would make the video trasnparent in premier, affter effects or final cut(mac) then import it. For 3D you can export through Studio max as a swf too.
