CSS Drop down menu's over flash

for some reason when i have a drop down menu and a flash image below, the buttons dont show infront of the flash files...even though the flash's div z-index makes it below the css dropdown menu div. any ideas??????

swf probably just doesn't play ball. like scrollbars.

although the z-index only counts if it's positioned relatively or absolutely (i think)
though im sure you already know that.

set the wmode of the swf to transparent. that should work.
