Rollover problems

I am currently building a site on Flash and I have used a movie clip as a rollover menu for my button. However the rollover effect will NOT stop looping. I need this to stop in order for the users to see the menu items.

Also, the menu items disappear the moment the cursor leaves the button. Is there any way to make the menu remain even after the cursor leaves the button?

To stop your menu MC looping, place a stop action in the last frame.(As well as the first)

If you give your menu MC an instance name you can then target it as follows:

on (rollOver) {
with (menu) {
play ();
}
}

This action will cause the MC to play to the last frame and stop/remain open.
Because you want the menu to remain open when you roll off then you only need the above action. If you want the menu to disappear when you click a button then add something like the following:

on (release) {
with (menu) {
gotoAndStop (1);
}
}
