XML for Flash 8

I hope this is in the right place.

I'm trying to use XML for my flash project. I have found several tutorials that shows me how to post text and images in flash with XML, though they don't seem to work in Flash 8 once they are exported. If someone can direct me to a XML tutorial that works in Flash 8, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
