Hello there,

I've embedded a very simple swf into an html home page to act as a portal into the rest of the site. It worked beautifully when tested, but I thought I should make sure it would work as well on other platforms and in other browsers...a google search later and I was working with "ufo" and javascript (two new things that I have no idea how to troubleshoot).

After getting it all set up as it should be, it seems to work sometimes, but not always. It seems to be working as it should on Macs in Safari and Firefox. I'm having trouble with PC's.

What's happening on the PC in IE and Firefox: Both browsers report I need flash player 9 installed, I install it, and the site works. I quit out and try loading the page again and it tells me [I]again that I need Flash Player installed.

If it is not working, I'm in need of some help to figure out how to fix it. Since I'm currrently confused about whether it's even working or not, here's the link to the thing (http://www.joiadesign.com/temp/bcc/bcc_rev3.html).

Anyone willing to help a gal out?

I'm using Firefox on WinXP and it works just fine. Same with IE6. Are you sure it isn't a caching problem of some sort?

Thanks for checking it out. I ended up scratching the original "UFO" coding and trying swfobject instead, and THAT works flawlessly. Something about the UFO and me did not get along. You may have caught it after I made that change. I'm very glad to hear that it works for someone else, too. Now I just have to convince my client to use Flash on his website!
