looking for align symbol code

ok,
this might be the best way to convey
i'm guessing this would be done with a run command

(you select the symbols you want edited)

symbol 1(start)
(3 inches between)
symbol 2
(4 inches between)
symbol 3
(5 inches between)
symbol 4(end)

i want them to be the same like
symbol 1(start)
(3 inches between)
symbol 2
(3 inches between)
symbol 3
(3 inches between)
symbol 4(end)

(also theres no exact # of symbols or names)

i know use a ruler and the spacing tool,
but im making a demonstration and have text in individual symbols(for fade in effect) and would like them to be the same spacing through out the entire project. and quick about it.
is this possable?

Did you try the Align panel? Window > Align
