I've got the Peters book on Animation for AS2, so I figure I don't really need the updated edition once I'm up to speed on AS3 syntax. But I'd like a book that could ease me into AS3 coding conventions and practices, as well as teaching me a bit about structures and design. The Flash CS3 documentation doesn't do this particularly well.

I looked at the O'Reilly book, and despite O'Reilly's credibility, it seems the AS3 Cookbook is riddled with errors. I don't think I need that. So, what other books are interesting? I'm mostly into game design, so books concerning game programming in AS3 would be nice.

in terms of books, there is not much out there. However, Essential Actionscript 3.0 has just come out. From what I have read so far, I have found it to be very helpful.

I bought a book called "Flash CS3 Professional Advanced" by Russell Chun (Peachpit Press). It's weighted more toward Actionscript, yet it's still got a lot of stuff about the development environment too. So far, I really like it. Even though it says "advanced," I think I would classify it as intermediate.

I found this book of great use. Don't know what errors you have found.

With respect to other books, Colin Mook's Essential ActionScript 3.0 (http://www.moock.org/eas3) would be the best.
