Hey,

Do any of you guys every contract out portions your work to others? I've had to do it several times when there were some php stuff over my head. But my real problem is why is it so hard to find reliable help? I had 2 people bail on me and the 3rd who actually wrote the scripts isn't replying to my emails. For goodness sake, I've never been that flakley on a someone offering me some work.

Anybody got a good, reliable php freelancer?

I think there are a whole lot of flash guys like that too. I don't know how they do it, but I guess good for me. When people hire me, they know when i say something I mean it and I'm in it until the end.

This is why a recommendation service in the Employment section would be good, but it falls over for a million other reasons.

I think that market is spoiled by
- people that are very young, and they think its a pice of cake to ie write a cms.
- people that have a full time job, and they still do the freelance, they often take too much on them (Ive been there, done that ;) )

Theres no rule on this, but these are the most common situation Ive notice. Same for php/as. Sometimes first question from some new project manager (remote jobs) - How old are you ? ;)

Writting a CMS is a piece of cake...well assuming you already have a library of components for it...

The biggest issue I see is like mooska said, they are young and love to over promise everything...

Well... That's the thing I think of most when I introduce somebody for a potential gig that I cannot handle for whatever reason it might be... There are only handful number of people I know that they can deliver what they have promised... :(

That... I'll have to ask my wife about it... :p

So... What sorts of help do you need, FG??? I know you do good PHP, so I guess that's something that's totally off of your head or is it just the case where you don't have time to do it all???

It is some very advanced sql/php sorting and searching, some custom stuff that I just don't know how to do.

Oh well....though it would be nice to have a list of people I can call on when needed.
So do you guys ever run into the same problem, or is just me?

Run into that all the time.

Is there a certain issue you're facing or is it a long list of things that you need someone to really put hours into? I can probably help if its a question.

In all honesty, Josh is one of the most reliable guys I've ever had the pleasure of working with it. Plus, he keeps me honest with my time lines, cause if you ask me, everything can be built in a night...I drive him nuts with that.
