...when I open ActionScript Forums Group (http://www.actionscript.org/forums/forumdisplay.php3?f=84) and I see more users viewing as3 forum then as2.
now we have about 10/1 for as2 (210/20 users).
It's hard to predict but I think will take about 2,3 years
What do you think ?

Not sure how you look at it but I think of it as a 'filter' of sorts. Most serious AS developers have already made the transition to AS3 and I think the quality of posts shows that. If you compare the posts here to the posts in the AS2 forum, you might notice that the AS3 posts seem more sophisticated and advanced.
I get an overwhelming sense that 40%+ of the posts in the AS2 forum are from newbies that are using the trial version (or pirated version) of Flash.

Um... I see 14 for AS3 and 203 for AS2 forum... Mind you that lots of them probably are search engine spiders...
Moving to the General Chats forum... ;)

That is a bit short sighted and offensive IMO.
I exclusively use AS2, and it is not because I am not "serious", or couldn't make the transition if need be, it is simply because the corporation I work for still uses AS2. I have asked my bosses,
and they tell me it is going to be at least a year or two before they even consider making a switch. They already have a workflow, documentation, and templates all created around 2.0.
If would be a dumb business move for them to make a change right now when we don't really "need" any of the advantages AS3 brings into play.
And while I agree that there are certainly some inexperienced/newbie developers in the AS 2 forum, you can't just make blanket statements insinuating that anyone not on the AS3 train is a pirate, ignorant, or not a "serious developer".
I see quite a few as.org regulars that still post in AS2 who are obviously not any of those things, and I would consider myself one of them...

I think I can safely say that 90% of my work environment is still dealing with AS1... Very unfortunate... :(
Heh, My bosses are still struggling to get some of the developers here to stop coding on symbols...
If I started writing in as3 it would just cost my company time/money. I would be the only person who could edit my files, and nobody else would be able to use them as templates for new files.
They aren't about to shut down the whole company for a week while every developer in here learns a new way to do a job they can already do now just so they can be on the cutting edge of Flash development...
Maybe if we were creating games or something that could actually benefit from the improvements... but in a CBT environment where the base applications have already been created, there just is no benefit to it.
i think 3 years is a bit far out.... i would guess 1-2 years.. probably closer to 2... heh. but then in 2 years.. the forums structure may change enough to make this post obsolete
