if you have any animation. it will not play smoothly. If have anything like dwaring oval, line rectangle etc on runtime. It will done smoothly.

It will screw up any non-USA keyboard mappings... this bug is by far the most annoying of all the wmode=transparent bugs. If you have any input textfields in your swf, beware.

Macs and the transparent wmode can't cope with each other at first place. Sometimes the movie simply "disappears".

Let alone it makes your computer very slow and is not just compatible on all browsers... Avoid it as much as possible... ;)

Funny and annoying, I have been trying the dirtiest tricks ever to capture key events right in the last couple of days and I could succeed with FF, Safari & Opera for Mac replacing special characters using the onChanged event handler on a couple of text fields. Still no luck with any browser on PC and Camino on Mac, though. Beware of setting the wmode to transparent if you're interested in key events and consistent animation speed. I totally agree with astgtciv.
Just to shed a little light on the issue, wmode set to transparent or opaque defaults the keyboard to US English so users will have hard time finding the @ character, for example, which will need Shift+2 just like in a US keyboard. I'm not positive on which browsers and OS's this bug persists but I guess it is majority for now...

If I remember correctly, Adobe denies that is their fault... I think they pointed finger to the browser makers... No, I don't really remember the source... I am getting older and older and my memory is not what it used to be... :D

Interesting to learn Adobe blaming all major browsers :)

...and I take a back step after learning browsers lack sending the data of the keyboard language to the flash movie when in wmode set to something other than the default 'window'.

Yeah... All the browsers talk differently... So, in part Adobe is true on what they are saying, but that's something Adobe should step up and initiate something about it when there are so many people suffering from it... :(

Totally agree. Although not a problem caused by the player itself it's still interesting to see Adobe not caring about developers. What a shame...

Well... Generally speaking, Adobe is good at listening the community, but most of them stops at listening... Not many feature/bug requests are actually implemented... I am sure this probably has to do with the business rule they have when comparing the cost and whatnots, but I cannot stop saying that I have bad taste in my mouth... I love Flash and all, but I don't really like what's going on in the business side of the company... :(

If only there had been a strong competitor for Flash I'm sure this would have been already fixed. I wish this weren't necessary, though.

True... The Sliverlight have long way to even catch up with what Flash has achieved so far... Not that I like it, but that's the only one that's out there... :(

Doesn't it work like the Flash video only, though? Something that could compete in every aspect, function and action-wise would be great.

Well, Silverlight is whole lot more interactive than that... You have full C# code/library available to use... I think it just is a matter of time and how many developers are actually interested in creating something cool... I think general public will eager to install the plugin if they know they get something cool/good...
