Dear community.
I am a true beginner and I am not sure I have come to the right place.

My wish is to be able to make very rich, flash-like presentations, full of beautiful animations and some built in functionality.
In the future I would like to build web-based applications for rather serious simulations.

I have done som C programming 25 years ago and some C# 3 years ago on hobby level.

Where to begin. Is Flash, Flex, Actionscript or somewhere else the right place to start.

Any good books to recommend...

Sorry bothering you with these newbie-things.

Thanks

Well, if you're going for animations, then flash is what you want (as in the flash product). Flex is meant for form-based applications, and is less suited for lots of smooth animations and transitions. Actionscript doesn't really exist separate from these two environments (although the flex sdk allows you to write pure-actionscript applications), so you should learn the basic concepts of doing animations with flash first and learn actionscript later.

The included help in flash (the product) is actually pretty good (it's how I learnt flash), but if you search the forums for book suggestions you'll find lots of good ones.

Thanks jsebrech,

Sounds like some resonable advises.

I found some books to order - and hopefully ready to go soon.

Thanks again
