Flash triggered by SMS

Just a dumb theoretical question :o - is it possible to triggerflash via an SMS text and if so what is the best way to do this? For example a webbased version of the sort of shows you see on MTV like 'rate or hate'

Howdy and Welcome... :)

Flash runs on a user's computer... and you cannot really send a SMS message to my computer cuz you don't know how to connect to my computer... ;)

Thanks Cyanblue, I didn't really express myself very well..

I meant the opposite direct, to allow people to sms to our site and have a function on the site change depending on what perameter is contained within the SMS (yes/no for example). If the sms went into an xml database could we extract the perameter from that into flash and then alter the site as a result.

I've just used a lot of big words there I don't really understand, I'm on work experiance and have been set a task :confused:

Well... I know nothing about the SMS and doing those stuff on the server... I'll just assume that you know that part... :)

Let's say that your server updates XML file regularly... If that is the case, you can have the Flash movie reload the XML file in a given interval and display the result from the content of the XML file...

Hey..

I just been working with sms services in a scholl project.. I did'nt use any flash but it gave me a nice understanding on how sms services works.. My best advice for you would be to contact a sms gateway provider (wich you will need anyway) and talk to them about whats possible.. Im sure this can be done..
