How to submit a website url to search engines???

Hey everyone,
A quick ?. Once I"m done creating a website, how do i go about submitting the URL to search engines like yahoo, excite, etc. Say my website is about home appliances, how do I submit the url to yahoo so that people browsing the home appliance section can see the comany's name and follow the link to the website? Thanks.

search engines all have a submit website link

there are numerous programs around for submitting your site to multiple search engines at once

heres an online one that lets you do a few - http://www.scrubtheweb.com/abs/submit/thelist.html

be aware that there is a lot more to getting your site to appear in the search engines than just submitting it (especially with flash sites)
