Hey everyone,

Just a heads up that we're trialling a new advertising network this week. We're always open to user opinion about such things as we don't like to degrade the site for the sake of such things, so please be sure to post any relevant comments here.

E.g. impacts on site speed, any ads you see which are inappropriate (we've blocked anything suspect so far as we're away), general opinion of these as compared to Google ads, etc.

Constructive comments will be given real attention. Flaming will most definitely be ignored.

<insert advertising is a necessary evil rant here>

Thx

Maybe not related... But since the new ads have been up (yesterday?), I've noticed that Today's Posts (Quick Links) seem to be limited to a few pages - today's posts - , rather than how they appeared for me before, all new posts pages seperated with the usual "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit or since forums have been marked read." followed by all the other older ones...
But maybe I just hit some setting, and it's not related to the new ads...

I'd guess at it being unrelated... This post went up about 6 minutes after the new ads, so they are a very recent phenomenon :)

I can't think of what else may have changed to cause the issue though...

I will pay you (actionscript.org) money to never display that seizure inducing "you won an ipod" banner ever again. At 6am before my coffee, I just about threw my laptop out the window. I mean come on... this is supposed to be a prestigious site.

OK, I'm done ranting now that I've had my coffee. I'll let it slide this time since I love this forum so much. ;)

Keep up the great work!

*edit*
It's not just an ipod actually. There are other things "I won" as well. But it's the same ad. Sorry I cant give more details, it gives me a headache to look at it long enough to do so.

Yeah we've taken that network off our list now. We set up filter such that those massively animated banners shouldn't have shown up... but they still did.

Back to good old Google :)

I like this one (see attached). Funny thing is I typed my name is and it said I was going to die alone :(
