Paint Splatter Effect

hey, has anyone got any ideas on how to create the paint splatter effect on this link http://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/15559.html where the page folds over and the paint splatters(or the preloader)?

ive tried masking a splatter, and shape tweening the mask (which is the same splatter) from a small to actual size over the top of splatter to have it appear as if its being splattered, it looks ok but kinda dodgy.

anyone have any better ideas?

i decomplied the swf (don't ask for me to send it to you) and there is no masking. It is all vector drawings. There isn't any shape tween, but just 7 or so different vector drawings on the timeline.

I always hand-animated mine. I started by taking a pic of a splat, tracing it out, and bringing it into Flash as a Vector shape. Then I copied the vector shape 6 or 7 times onto different keyframes, and worked backwards in the timeline, reducing the splat size in each keyframe with the eraser. If your animation is quick enough, it'll give the impression of the expanding splat you're looking for. Look at the preloader at www.redzcomfort.com (http://www.redzcomfort.com) .
