Im making a projector file as a menu for a cd, and I cannot get the buttons to open directories. If i put a specific file path, it opens but i can't do that because computers have different drives delegated as the cd-rom drive. So if i have the projector file in the root directory of the cd what do i have to set the buttons as to get them to open folders.
on (release) {
getURL("/Programs/");
}
That doesnt work for me. Any ideas?

Northern Codeworks has a nice free utility called Browse that might help you (it opens Windows Explorer on the root of the drive it was launched from). Check my FAQ about Projectors and CD burning and you'll find the link in the Resources part:

http://www.actionscripts.org/forums/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=14844

Also... I would swear I saw the code to do it without any other tool. It's for sure somewere in the "Flash and offline usage" part of this thread:

http://66.70.72.50/forums/showthread.php?threadid=63443&perpage=20&pagenumber=1

I can't remember now which one is exactly that had code for browsing directories, and I don't have time to look for it (it's awfull lot of info :D), but take look and you'll probably find something useful...

Hope this helps...

If the other suggestion didnt help another way to do this is write a batch file and have the button call the batch file. The bathc file would look something like:

If exist d:\autorun.inf set cdrom=d:
start %cdrom%

or something. you can propogate the if exist command to include e: f: g: etc.

its not pretty but it does work. if you tweak the start commands and the cmd command on the flash button it doesnt look too bad.

oh, this works for NT machines, i dont know if it works on 9x/Macs.
