Hi:
I apologize for the potential simplicity of this request, but I am trying to learn how to make an event timer in flash utilizing either java script or php to go with it.
I know how to make a simple clock or countdown timer, but what I need is an event timer that refreshes each day and continues to run throughout the day...regardless of when a site visitor occurs. There are 2 main parameters...one event occurs every 9.5 minutes, the other occurs every 0.83 seconds.
I have discovered to make "x" number of equal sized number "slides" and that various offsets would need to be made in conjunction with setting their expressions. In this case since there are two different ones that would need to count into the hundreds and hundred thousands respectively, so I would have to set the appropriate 1/10th for each expression. What I do not realize is how to get the odometer to continue counting regardless of whether anyone is viewing it. It needs to be independent of being seen and run constantly from the server.
