Need help with writing effect in Flash

Hello all,
there is an animation effect where it seems as if a paint brush(or for that matter any graphic symbol) writes text. To simplify suppose FLASH has to be written, the effect will trace the characters one by one. If anyone can tell me how to achieve this effect I will be very helpful.
