Yeap - title is fairly self explanatory.

Just wondering if anyone else thinks that it could be a nice little addition to these boards ?

For some strange reason i am worried about posting this, i feel like some sort of secret society will erupt - members shouting "snapple, you know full well why we keep such sections away from as.org" - they will turn into the monsters that i have grown fond of on half-life (anyone else dive into that game if you need a break from coding ?), and banish me from posting cos i have suggested such a dumb-ass idea ?

Anywho,

Regards, snapple :)

Oh, before i forget, a good freind of mine sent me this the other day. Sure people might have heard it before, but its still damn funny :

" Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."

Not sure where it came from, still have a chuckle :)

Ah with the surname; Freeman, I have been regularly drawn to that game....

Hey nice quote BTW :)

How would the sectio be managed? Would it be open for anyone to post or would it come down to a select few posting their ideas of cool?

I think that to only have a select few would not be wise. Everyone could post, just to see whether or not they've been visiting the wierd, wacky and just plain wrong sites over the past couple of years or so - only kidding.

But i think that it would be good because, other than asking "how do they do this?" on the animation and f/x section and on the site check....there is no where really where people can just sit and dribble over some serious eye candy, done by the likes of poeple that i can only wish to aspire to.

It would be nice little resource, a corner of inspiration for those of us who's only stimulation is stamp collecting and different shades of brown paper bags.

Obviously it would require everyones input, when you've had enough of XML sockets and cutting down file sizes, just make your way over to actionscripts corner of the coolest sites around today (even if they are straight out of computer arts or create on-line mag :) )

Regards, Snapple :)

I think it should be made in such a way that we submnit URLs of sites we think cool and the administrators list the good ones. In turn we can all give a rating(and a comment), that way we would be able to see a list of URLs and see which one is most highly rated at all times. Once a month a nice mansion on the East Coast of Spain should be given to the designer of the top website (kindly donated by as.org)

What do you think?

yeah it kinda has to be moderated otherwise you'll get swamped with blatant advertising/self promo/commercial stuff. I doubt Jesse and Strok will want to have to babysit any more forums though. Is it possible to hand the moderation o it out to some "trusted" source?

Like sfa says, a rating system would be good.

Yep, I think there should be three moderators for example, if two of them give the go ahead, it goes on. If you need anyone, I am available.
