Jumping text

I have converted text (one word) into a button because I wanted the text to change color on mouseover. I have also put a GETURL action on that button. Everything works fine but the text jumps when I pass the mouse over it. What I mean is that it seems that each letter is taken separately so the color jumps on and off from one letter to the other. What can I do to correct that?

to be honest I'm not sure how you mean, can you perhaps post a sample fla (zip it up and attach to your post) so we can see what's up?

and pass your cursor through a word. You will see that it jumps from one letter to the other. If you click on EMPLOI, the link works fine. The words are not images but text I have written in a text box and that I converted into buttons afterwards so that the mouseover changes the color of the word.

Do you still need the zipped fla file or can you understand what I did wrong?

ah, think I got ya

You need to set a hit area.

At the moment it's just set to the text. Go into your buttons and in the frame called Hit put a nice big rectangle around each word, this will be the area that is picked up as a button. Don't worry, whatever you put in that frame won't be visible it just sets a bounding area for the button.

That should sort you out.
