zooming effect

the zooming effect with the text/pictures etc, looks like a 'movie' rather than vector effect, but does anyone know how to recreate this effect, not using movie rendering, but vector? I want to keep my filesize low.

The effect isn't all vectors, it uses raster images as well. I say that because if you stop the blur at just the right time you can zoom in and see the pixels.

Anyway, I attached a file showing how I'd go about doing it with a single blurred image and some vector text.

I thought it used bitmaps or something, and the effect that you've got is great, I presume you made the raster in photoshop? I haven't tried it out yet, but I'll post a url when I'm finished if anyone really cares... ;)
