loadMovieNum, accessing layers

Hi

I'm designing a slideshow, using the loadMovieNum() technique. On the Next Image button I have used loadMovieNum, but I need to know how I can redirect it to the paintings layer.

For example:

_paintings.loadMovieNum("painting 1.swf", 1);

I hope this makes sense. I know that the command line above hasn't got the right syntax. Can anyone help, please?
