View Full Version : Alpha layers and Tween engines?

I have a couple of questions so I can start "thinking" like Flash does.

1. First, if a movieclip has it's alpha set to 0% does Flash render it, then apply the 0% alpha? Or does it simply view it as nothing and does not render it?

2. I've heard of tween engines like tween Lite that are supposed to replace the "sluggish" flash tween engine. Are these generally used in websites?

I am new to Flash and I have almost completed my first site. My only problem is that the site feels sluggish and I'm wondering if the above 2 things are contributing to it. I have many layers of picture files that I set to 0% alpha and just set the alpha layer to 100% when they are needed. Also I am manipulating rather large 500x300ish pixel jpg files with the Flash tween engine.

Thanks for any help

1. flash render movieclip with alpha 0%, use visible property to hide movie
2. tween Lite is used in many websites, it is very powerfull and light weight
