Hey guys,

I downloaded a preloading script for my simple flash project, and intergrated it. However im very new to flash, and i wish to modify the loading bar, but cant find the location of the code which makes the 1px wide orange box stretch across depending on the amount that has loaded.

Here is my FLA file : Link (http://www.uploading.com/files/P6AQ3NGT/site.fla.html)

And here is what i am trying to achieve:

Please note that isnt isnt as simple as just stretching the loading bar image, the image actually just starts 1px wide but somewhere there is the code to tile it horizontally depending on the % loaded.

Please help! Ive been through 5 different websites to try and get help with this!

If using AS2.0, can you provide the .fla in a Flash 8 format?

Ive uploaded a flash 8 compatible version here: Link (http://www.uploading.com/files/DN3LUMUG/site8.fla.html)

Should the bar start from the far left position and grow up to the far right ending position?

Ideally i would like something like a 20px gap on the left side and have it grow to the right leaving a 20px gap on the right side too.

Here's one way... Although, maybe not the smooth preloader you had...

Hi atomic,

Thank you, i really appreciate your help. That was just what i was after. Is there a way to make the bar more smooth, or is that just the dowside of having the bar longer?

Also, i was wondering there is a way to simulate a download, this will be run on a local computer initially, what i would like to do is tell the flash that it is actually being loaded on a machine with an xKB connection.

Finally, can you tell me how you widened the bar, where was the code that made it expand?
