Is this the _root of the problem

I have posted a number of questions about load var into a MC and may have found a solution.

If I use a static text box in the MC the text is fine except when I select Device Fonts and it does not appear when published. Since my dynamic text seems to inherently use device fonts could this be the problem.

This problem even happens when I use arial etc. so why does this text disappear when I select deivce fonts?

FOUND THE PROBLEM

the text box was in a MC below a mask layer on the _root.
Device fonts will not show through a mask and as it is a dynamic text box the text did not show (all dynamic text uses device fonts)
