Stop Flash from encoding post vars!!!

How can I stop Flash from encoding the names of the variables I'm posting?

I have a variable name with an underscore in it and flash keeps encoding it when it is posted to the server. Since the server never sees the varible name, the code obviously fails.

Changing the code on the server is not an option as it is a client's (very expensive) commercial tracking system.

Does anyone have a work-around for this? Would I be out of line to call this a bug in Flash?
