I am a new actionscripter writing a game for my first university programming project. I have been busy reading away and have gained some basic skills in actionscript.
My game project is probably best described as 1/3 Pong, 1/3 Breakout and 1/3 Pinball.
So far 'Flash Game Programming for Dummies' has introduced me to actionscript and the basics, and I have managed to scrape together working Pong clone (attatched), but I have reached the limits of the book and don't quite know where to turn.
Are you an expert in the field of Flash game programming? Do you have a little bit of time free to answer some emails/private messages in the next two or so weeks? To look at my code and point out the error of a newbie's ways?
The good news is, I am a fast study and keen to listen and to learn. I don't want you to do everything for me, rather to reach back to the time you were new to flash, and take a newbie by the hand and lead him to the next level. I have a basic understanding of the early principles of Flash, so hopefully it will be fairly easy to teach me the next few steps.
If you fit the bill, and can give a bit of your time in the next two or three weeks to bring another little programmer into the world, please message me or answer below. I promise that I will take your teachings and write games to make you proud :)
