dude welcome to the world of gaming!!!
i would suggest going to http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Games/
and download the games. and check out the sourcecode. if u feel more confident learning from book, buy them by all means. me, being cheap will forever go to forums and surf for sites : )

I would HIGHLY recommend cartoonsmart.com. They have video tutorials for about $20 -$30 and they are WELL worth every penny. I have bought a few and found they to be very informative!
