I have a theory that a person's Flash skills are closely related to which breakfast cereal they eat, so to either prove or disprove this theory I need to collect some data.
Here's what I need:
1) Your all-time favorite cereals
2) Which cereal you ate last
3) Your current Flash skill level
For the record my preferences are:
fav = ["Capn Crunch", "Lucky Charms", "Frosted Flakes (TonyTiger)"];
last = "CocoaCrispies";
skillz = 3; //out of a possible 5
This is very important since I want to be sure my eating habits aren't hindering my Flash skills. Please consider your answers carefully as incorrect answers could skew the results. Lastly, feel free to add any relevant comments which might provide further insight regarding the Cereal/Flash relationship.
Thanks for your cooperation,

As I'm always one to aid in the land of the intellectual studies (ahahahaha) I would like to partake of this survey!
fav=None, I can't have sugar. And anything without sugar tastes like grainy mush.
last eaten=None, see above.
Skiminimmanilz=None, but I can do a cartwheel. Almost..
I think and hope this helps on your road to discovery. Best of luck to you, pixelwit!

Aha! I thought I was onto something big and this is an excellent start.
Knowledge gained:
No Cereal = No Skillz;
So far so good.

I eat LIFE (mostly because I couldn't find a cereal named SOULS. MUHAHAHAHAHA!)
Ehhhhhhhh, I think the last cereal I ate was on vacation at the complimentary breakfast at the hotel. I THINK it was Kellog's Cornflakes but it may have been something else, crap! They just put it all in a glass jar with no label! Does that mean my whole existence is gonna get called into question here?
Skill level hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I'll agree! No wait!...what are you looking for...*panics* PASS!
**** it, gimme a 2.
By the way Pix, not intended as bribery, brown nosing or any other type of posterior smooching but 3 is kinda low for you. I'd say you're a solid 4...

hmm, don't do breakfast, but here goes, an insight into my past cereal habits, just for you Pix...
1) Coco Pops, Chocoflakes, Frosties (Tony Tiger), that museli type stuff with the dark chocolate and dried raspberries (no nuts), special K (on name alone as it tastes like crap).
Oh and cute boxed selection packs remind me of camping.
2) that museli type stuff with the dark chocolate and dried raspberries (no nuts) munched sometime in late 1995 I think, when I still lived at home and breakfast was thrust upon me before I was allowed to leave the house. (*sigh* parents!)
3) skill level, um. *panics* PASS!
*runs to cower with Vile*
I do subsist on crappy machine fake cappucino til lunchtime though (with the occasional Drifter bar dipped in to make it palatable) does that count?

fav= Corn Flakes with cappuccino or Nescaffee with little suger/milk
last = 3-4 months ago
skill=0-1

09-22-2002, 03:53 PM
cereal=Anything that leaves the remaining milk at the end on the chocolatey side
last cereal eaten=By George, I haven't the slightest. French aren't too keen on it, so, I'd have to say something that left the remaining milk at the end on the chocolatey side
skillz=I'll go with a 4 too...

fav = I eat yoghurt for breakfast
last = honestly can't remember
skillz = well if pixelwit is a 3 then I'm a freakin' -24.8
out of curiosity - what would one have to know/do to get a 5 for skillz? Everything I guess...

arr_myCereal = ["Fruit Loops", "Honey Nut Cheerios", "Cinnamon Life"];
str_lastCereal = arr_myCereal[0];
int_flashSkeel = ((int_laziness + int_distraction) / int_caffeineLevel) + int_skeel + int_creativity;
As you can see, I have more factors than cereal that affect my flash skeels... though I think that you are onto something big, Pixel... perhaps, dare I say it, SLIGHTLY big.
My blood to caffeine ratio have a major effect to counter high levels of laziness and distractability. Those aforementioned detractants can severely impact my Flash Skeelz.
So, bearing that in mind I'd say that I waver between 3 and 4... I'd agree with Vile, though. If 3 is average then I'd say you'd rate a 4. BillyT, too, for that matter.

Okay, so I've been slaving away hour after hour, day after day, developing this theory... tabulating data... compiling results... making stuff up, etc. etc... It hasn't been easy. All the calculating and recalculating has worn my fingers down to the... well, down to slightly shorter fingers. The things I do for this board...
CONCLUSIONS:
#1 Don't eat yogurt! It will set your skillz well into the negative digits! On the other hand, if you happen to overcome the initial setback people will praise you and show their appreciation by creating a fan club in your honor.
#2: Never skip breakfast and be sure to eat sugary cereal at least once a year, otherwise you're destined to miss out on Flash all together.
#3: No matter what cereals you normally eat, eating one sugary sweet LowBudget/NoFrills cereal will severely limit your skillz. You'll be lucky to get your skillz to level 3 unless of course you move north to escape the oppressive heat and rednecks.
#4: Eating a single NameBrand sugary cereal isn't enough and adding cappuccino won't help it either. Apparently it even makes some people forget to rate themselves.
#5: Eating a wide variety of sugary NameBrand cereal GUARANTEES great Flashing skills. Hey, it's Science, the facts don't lie.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Eat NameBrand cereal every day for every meal. If possible buy it in the prefabbed little variety packs. If not available at the market, you may need to search the local restaurants or diners, or better yet, buy one box of every NameBrand at the market. If you should grow tired of eating cereal every meal of every day try substituting an occasional bowl of pure sugar. I prefer the powdered variety.
CREDITS:
Although I did all the hard work and compiled ALL the data, it's you, the dedicated Flash participants, who truly deserve all the credit. Thank you for participating in an experiment which has lead to what will most likely be the greatest scientific finding of the 21st century.

last eaten = weetabix
skill level = weetabix, //sorry = 1-1.5
I once ate 12 a day for 3 months *snapple stands proud*

Dr.TG, thanks for your contribution to flash design and to science. I think you should patent your reseach and receive royalties for every website or flash component created under the influence of good cereals, I for one would definatley be willing to give you at lease 15%.
Maybe a research on Jam flavours and their effects on Java programmers could be your next task.
Thanks again

Having wasted my time at uni on arts and humanities courses instead of contributing towards the scientific progression of humankind I'm just guessing here, but something tells me that excessive jam consumption maybe leads to short term memory failure and/or blindness?
Dr.TG, thanks for your contribution to flash design...
poor PixelWit
*hugs to make up for sfa*
Pink, leave the studies to the professionals, what do you know about Jam, Java and their relation?
*hugs himself just for the hell of it*

What do you think the long term effects of your brother breaking eggs over your head at breakfast are?
*looks around at everyone staring at him*
WHAT?!?
well, dispite what sfa thinks, i know your the true genius behind this study pixelwit.
hmm... but dr.tg... does kinda have a ring to it... doncha think?

Snapple: Sorry, the results are in, no more data being accepted at this time.
SFA: Dr. TG??? Man, I really am the Rodney Dangerfield of ActionScripts.org, "I get no respect."
Pinkaboo: Mmmm.. hugs...
*considers copping a feel but thinks better of it, remebering a previous kick to the groin (with rollerblades on no less)*
Vilehelm: Not sure about the eggs... but if you really want to discover the long term effects to your minds psyche, you should probably check with a doctor.
TG: So you like the sound of Dr.TG ay?
*hands TG 2 books, "Psych 101" and "Brain Surgery for Beginners" then points at Vile*
Which book you use is up to you. If it were my call, I'd probably try the "Brain Surgery" one first and if that doesn't work, maybe try the "Psych 101" on whatever's left.

SKILLZ : 2.5(based purely on will, if not so much scripting ;) )
I dont think this has proven anything besides I need more practice.

I bought a pack of Kellogs crunchy nut corn flakes today - not because I like them but because I want to test your theory...
See! you may give up your time to science pixelwit but I'm giving up my body!! ;) (that and I'm pretty keen to get my flash skillz out of negative territory. Stupid yoghurt...can't believe it had me fooled by it's smooth and creamy goodness for so long...)
Ups :eek: just realised my mistake now.........pixel, please dont think I respect you any less because of that slip. You work is very much appreciated.
