On taking a Flash MX file that exports to Flash Player 5, opening it in Flash 8, making changes and re-saving as a Flash 8 file that exports to Flash Player 5, the file does not work and produces very strange issues such as flashing pages etc.

Has anyone else experienced this and are there any suggestions on how to remedy this rather than backsaving via Flash 8 - MX2004 - MX?

This is a big problem for us as we have an entire suite of e-learning courses built in Flash MX that need edited from time to time and most people in the office have been upgraded to Flash 8.

thanks in advance.

Howdy and Welcome... :)

I don't think Flash can guarantee that the exported SWF will work as intended if you do that... I mean, if you use Flash 8 to publish for FP5, there is a good chance to lose something like your case... I suggest you find the Flash MX CD and install it to update the content... That'd be whole lot easier and faster than trying to figure out the solution in a current setup... That's my 2 cents...
