If I understand the question correctly, you have a shape or something (ie: twisted line) that you want an object to travel along?

... if this is the question, I suggest using a motion guide and a motion tween.

Quick tutorial:

1. Create a new movie, add a basic shape (circle or square, etc).

2. Right click on the layer that it is in, select motion guide. In flash 5, this will "indent" the current layer and create a motion guide layer above it (similar to masking).

3. In the guide layer, draw the path that you want the object to follow.

4. Position the object over the beginning of the path that it is to follow, add a key frame at frame 20, and position the object in that frame over the end of the path. Make sure the guide layer has 20 frames as well.

5. Then just add (right click in time line) a motion tween between the two keyframes of the objects.

I probably haven't done too good of a job explaining this... it's pretty simple though. Can always check Flash help for Motion Guide
