Anything similar to Javascript's getElementById() ??

Hi

I have an XML language file which contains labels for all my display objects. The encoding of the XML is such that display object IDs are used. Now is there any simple way to map the language file values to labels of the display objects?

I'm looking for something similar to Javascript's "getElementById()"
