Opening url from flash passing parameters

Hi guys, i was wondering, i have a flash animation developed under flash cs3, now heres what i need, i have a screen that has boxes on it for data entry, now i was wanting to use this to enter a number and then after pressing the go button, to open a webpage appending the number to the url address, either on the end or in the centre of the url, the url has to be opened in a new browser, is this possible, and can anyone provide me with some example code i can work off, thanks.

Is this using AS2.0 or AS3.0, since you can use both on CS3?
