View Full Version : png transparency issue in external swf file

I have multiple AS3 swf files. One is an empty movie that will load all others. The others have transparent png files already put in the stage during authoring.

If I view them individually, they work fine. If I load them inside another swf, everything works fine until I change the alpha property of the loaded movies. When I do that, the pngs loose their transparency and their quality.

Any ideas on why that happens and how to solve it??

It's been a while since I had this problem, so I can't tell if this was the cause of the problem that originated this thread. However, I've run into a similar situation the other day. In actionscript 2, the _alpha property was a value between 0 and 100, in actionscript 3, the alpha property is a value between 0 and 1, but if you specify a value greater than 1, the compiler won't throw any exceptions or errors of any kind, but this will cause serious transparency issues.

So, double check if you're using alpha = 1. alpha = 100 will cause you troubles in AS3.

I am curious if this is an AS issue.
