dangling effect?

I would to know how they created the effect of the rectangles on the first page of :

I think some elastic effects are used but dont know for sure.
Can you xplain me?

Hi,
The code in the attached file came originally from somewhere on this site, I've used extensively as I like the movement.
You can change the movement by playing around with the vars.

If you want to know more about inertia/elaticity do a search for pixelwit and look thru' some of his posts - a guy who really know his AS or you could visit http://www.bit-101.com/ for some very cool tutes on the subject
