Flash Communication Across Open Browsers?

Is there any way to allow a Flash movie to communicate across open browser applications?

For instance, I'm running SWF one in Firefox, and SWF two in Safari. Is there any way for SWF one to send a variable to SWF two?

LocalConnection will allow you to make a connection between two seperate flash players, be it 1 projector and 1 embed, or 2 embed in the same html .. or even 2 seperate browsers w/ embed swfs.
