Chromless Tutorial

I have tried to follow it a few times but never worked.
It is hard to understand...

0) Basically, this is for making one page with a button which will open a chromeless page, correct?

1) The first part... So when it says to publish my button, it means to publish the movie where my button is into html, right?

2) Then...Where does the second set of codes go? In the html page where the button is, or the page that I want to open?

3) What part of the code must I customize for it to work?

Hi,
Q1 yes it is for making a movie with one button in it - you can put a button in any movie with that code on and it will work


Q2. the code goes into the html page of the movie that the button is in - the movie where you are calling the function.

Q3. You must change the name of the URL to the html name of your published movie - so if you make a Flash movie called MyMovie.swf and then publish in html you should change URL to MyMovie.html

Q4 you can change (but don't have to)
windowREALtit = " ? Appletons" (the last word is the one I have changed
you can also change

windowTIT = "<font face=verdana size=1>&nbsp;on line enquiry</font>"

on line enquiry is the text that will appear at the top of your window
You can also change all the colour parameters that are below that line to customise the window for your self

I got as far as...

When I click on the button, a browser pops up, the url says javascript:openIT()

but my page doesn't come out...?

also, if I try to view the button in IE instead of testing my movie, it doesn't do anything at all

Hi,
Here is a file for you that should explain everything OK.......I think,
You cannot open the window from your .swf, only from the .html
Also the jpeg & javaScript file that ship with the tute are needed - it won't work without them, I have included them for you in the zip, undo the zip, click on buttonSamantha.html and then you will see

Every class I had taken....i always learn more after having it.

Maybe its b/c I tutor people.....I actually understand the material more when I explain to other people.

Accounting doesn't seem very exciting to me... but I guess you can make a fair wage with it!!!

As for me I think I'd like to be an architect, but I dunno how many times I will change my mind!

Also wanted to become a biochemist or videogame developer.

Oh, on my own time I am trying to develop some comic.

I think a year or two later I will be able to publish my own comic book. Hope to have a good start.
