does this command not work for objects in a mask layer?

I am trying to achieve a flashlight effect with a custom cursor in the mask layer.... but it doesn't seem to work.

If I put a custom cursor in a normal layer, it works...

any tips to make a flashlight effect?am I on the right track?

oh...

I found out from stickman site that you are not allowed to drag masks in flash 5.

but I have found an alternative way on that site too.
so, problem solved!

Does MX allow masks to be dragged?

even the new method I found doesn't work!!! There is something dragged but... it does not reveal the linked layer below

yep you can drag masks in mx
