How to add special font characters in static textfields

Is it possible to add special font characters, such as a copyright symbol, to a static text field at author time? If so, how does one do it?

Any help is appreciated!

If you're on Windows, you can probably copy the character from the Character Map application in Accessories and paste it into the static text field. I'm sure there's something similar on a Mac.
