All I know from Singapore is that you'll be fined a $ 100,- if you litter chewing gum there ...

Hey Black,

I do live in Singapore for the moment, even though I am studying there (not a job or anything). What exactly are you looking for?

And Ricod, that's not true.... because you're not allowed to bring chewing gum there ;)

I don't know, sorry. I think your best chance would be in a foreign company, not a local one. I don't know if there's such a thing for the US, but there's some kind of French Chamber of whatever that can help us find jobs there. You could try to contact them (if they exist of course).

The next FlashKit conference is in Singapore and since I'm going to be out of Australia when the Aussie one is on I was seriously considerring taking a side trip and going to the Singapore one. It's bit early though, it think I have an exam just the day before.

Okay, I've included a link .... this is mainly advice for UK contractors, but even if you're neither there's some stuff worth reading that may apply to you and the US (if that's where you are)

http://www.contractoruk.co.uk/article60.shtml

Quick example, you will *probably* be liable to continue paying tax in your country for another 6 months after you leave, yet get charged tax in Singapore from day 1, so this is something worth looking in to, and be ready to claim back what's owed when the time comes.

Most countries seem to offer various options and have work-treaty agreements between one another so you should try to get info on what they are. You're best off going to a company that deals with work abroad, at least for some advice.

This is all stuff you can 'google'.

You may be able to work for a local company via a US 'umbrella' company either as a contractor or permie. That way you stay in the US tax system which may be potentially beneficial (I don't know how it works over there). You may be given generous tax incentives to do so.
