View Full Version : h.264 video - weird speed

I had a rather hard time figuring out how to play h.264 video in Flash. Naturally, turned out that somehow the mp4/mov files I was creating weren't just right, so wouldn't play (I used SUPER by eRightSoft, but since that didn't work, I resorted to Premiere, although I can't get mp4 files out of that, just mov files). Now I have a problem with the moov atom - it's at the end of the file and I cannot, for the world, bring it to the front, to make my files progressively-streamable. Bugger! I tried the QTIndexSwapper app (AIR), but that didn't seem to work with a mov file. So yeah, I still have to wait for the entire file to load before it can play.

Problem 2 - I have noticed that when I load a really short video file, it plays at a higher speed. Also, in long videos, if I play a part of the video, then pause, then move the time cursor back to the beginning, the file plays at a higher speed up to the point it had played previously. Files are h.264 .mov files, 31fps, the swf is also at 31fps (although I thought the video's fps had priority and this wouldn't matter). Any clues?

Thank you!

Sorry I don't have a solution, but I am having the same issue with h.264 videos playing at weird speed. When I first play the video it jumps to about a second before the end fo the video. I have an onComplete listener that plays the video from the begining and the second time around the video plays fine. The video I'm using is 15 seconds at 15fps.

The really odd thing is that when it's rendered out of After Effects with the quality slider set to hig the video plays fine. It seems to only happen when the quality slide is anything but the highest quality.
