flash mx, tweens with multiple objects

Hi this is probally a really stupid question but hey im just learning, anyways in one of my layers i have a tween. i want to have several objects moving at once but when i set it up only one moves and the rest pop up in there spot at the end. can this only be done by making multiple tweens on multiple layers?

Well you can do it all on one layer, just have to make sure that all your objects are selected. But, don't - number one rule :

don't be affraid of having too many layers

If you have all your tweens on one layer, it gets messy, unreliable and pointless, keep things separated and clean.
